MP Ted Opitz Extends Gratitude to all Volunteers in Honour of National Volunteer Week
(OTTAWA, April 17, 2012) This week MP Ted Opitz (Etobicoke Centre) is commemorating National Volunteer Week, to pay tribute to the millions of Canadians who graciously donate their time and energy.
National Volunteer Week has been celebrated annually in Canada for the past 68 years. Acknowledging volunteers, volunteerism and civic participation, it is Canada’s largest celebration of the contributions made by Canadians domestically and to international relief efforts abroad.
“On behalf of our government, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all Canadians who have positively contributed to their communities across the country and internationally. I am particularly appreciative of the incredible efforts residents of Etobicoke Centre have made to ensure our riding is a strong and dynamic community,” Mr. Opitz commented.
On the occasion of National Volunteer Week, Mr. Opitz and his staff at Etobicoke Centre would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to all Canadians who engage in voluntarism.
